Previously in DXbase 2005 when a particular state was entered, then after the
first few letters of a county was being typed, (either in upper or lower case)
the county would jump to a completed county.
Now in DXbase 2006 if you try to type the county name in lower case, the county
name will not be entered. It must be typed in upper case, plus the complete
county name must be typed, or you must go to the drop down and make a selection.
Is this the way it should operate.
Is there anyway I can go into the 2005 directory and move the previous
procedure into 2006.

Gary and Richard,

I just dummied-in some of my 2006 qso's (3-each per entity) and
did the routine (as per the help file) -- all 3 of the QSO's
(for both of the entities I dummied-in) were right there at
the very end of the worksheet/qsoform --- and in the proper
order. Sorry - I can not duplicate the situation you are seeing
there.

Jim,

I just typed in a dummy qso in my 2006 logbook with a
California buddy of mine -- once I typed in his callsign
and hit the TAB Key -- I went over and typed in/selected
CA in the state column - then (in lower case), just "started"
typing in the County column with "lo" (without the quotemarks)
(for Los Angeles County) -- and then took my mouse cursor
over to the drop-down arrow -- and VOILA!! Right there was
LOS ANGELES !!

Is there something different that you are going there Jim?

Boy, talk about service! This morning Joe called me direct and pointed out
the error of my ways. As usual, severe pilot error was involved. I had
numbered my multiple Q cards with a unique number (YYMMDDn) per QSO
confirmed, not per CARD! Changed the numbers so all Q's on the card are
numbered the same and ran the report. Still no joy until I played around
with the choices in the DXCC Award type check boxes.

This is my first DXCC application as AL9A and I had only checked Phone as
the desired filter. This selects 117 cards, but the multiple QSO cards are
sorted by band and callsign as only ONE of the multiple QSO's on the card is
being selected to confirm the country on ONE of the bands. When I check
Phone and multiple individual band check boxes the report produces 163 hits
with the multiple QSO cards correctly sorted at the end of the list! This
report confirms the several other countries on multiple bands, I suppose for
an eventual 5BDXCC award.

Sooo, this leads me to a new question. Since the ARRL form says the initial
application fee covers up to 120 cards what is the recommended drill?
Should I:
1. Send the 117 cards with the multiple Q cards sorted by band and callsign
(only using one of the Q's)?
2. Send all 163 cards and pay extra for the overage above the 120 card
limit?
3.Exclude the five multiple Q cards altogether and send in 112 single QSO
cards for the initial award?
Gary AL9A
