Phil, The CD update utility only fills in BLANK fields with info from the CD. If the CD has a 4 character grid that's what you get, if it has a 6 character grid that's what you get. If a field is already populated with info it is left unchanged. I ran the utility on my .mdb file last week with no problems. I don't think I'd use it for an older log or go too far back into old log entries. If the FCC reissued an old call sign you could get yourself messed up with the current name, city, state, grid, etc., being populated against a call that had a different owner way back when. As always, be sure to make a backup before running the utility. Gary AL9A
