But
I use MMTTY as my tnc.....
If....IF....I forget to hit the RTTY button on my FT1000 or qsy to a normally 
cw band plan 
segment, and hit a buffer....
I'll get a single tone, no diddle, even though I see the buffer message run 
across the 
screen.
