DX Spider is another cluster program that some sysops run instead of
AR-Cluster. Lee, VE7CC, has been a sysop for many years and now is writing
his version of node software called CC Cluster. It is quicker and more
flexible that the others. Using his user software, either by itself or
feeding a logging program such as DXbase, you can now filter by band. With
that you can have spots from one set of states, for instance, for 80M and
another set for 20M, for instance.

He is testing the software now on VE7CC-1, as are a few other nodes.

Bill, Gang:

I had a quick look the other day but did not find the difference between the
three types of DX clusters. I am sure that I understand the ARC format, but
what is a CC Cluster or a Spider?

The ARUser program has undergone many updates in past months. Lee has three
different nodes presently running. The three choices are:
VE7CC ARC
VE7CC-1 CC Cluster
VE7CC-2 Spider

Dependant on which of these three DIFFERENT software systems, filters work
differently. I suggest, VE7CC-1, which is the new CCcluster software and
provides the most filtering
options and ease of use.
