All the suggestions here are good and should be foillowed.
They are all good data process procedures.
I go a step further. WHile doing file backups during "Normal" operation,
usally weekly or so,
I take an extra step before contests and before installing new or upgrading
software.
I brought a 300Gb external hard drive. It's a USB interface, so it's easy to
hooked when I need to use it.
I also purchased a Backup package that allows me to do "Image Copies"
Before an upgrade or fresh install, I make an image of the "C" drive to the
external drive.
Now if something went wrong all I have to do is restore the image and Iright
back to full operation just as I was before the install.
Takes about 10 mintues and I'm done, except for trying to figure out whata
went wrong.
