Hi

Jack recently sent me a modified radios.ini file to try DXBase with the new
Yaesu FT2000MP Unfortunately, I cannot get this modified file to work with my
FT2000MP. My radio is very recent (Feb 2007) and has the latest Yaesu
software update, installed by the UK dealer in the last 10 days.

I replaced the radios.ini file as suggested and confirmed that that DXBase
still worked with my FT1000MP MKV Field. Then I replaced the transceiver with
the new FT2000MP. In DXbase I checked the connect HF radio 1 serial interface
check box and the DTR check box and selected the new FT2000 radio in the
drop down menu. I set 4800 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop, bit no parity as with the
FT1000MP and tried the DX Base software. I did not return any values in the
"retrieve" mode or do anything in the QSY mode.

The FT2000MP has three parameters associated with the CAT interface:

Menu 027 Gene CAT BPS - Sets the transceivers computer interface circuitry
for the CAT baud rate 4800/9600/19,200/38,400 bps. I selected 4800 bps the same
as previously used with the FT1000MP Mk V Field.

Menu 028 Gene CAT Tot - Sets the time out timer countdown time for a CAT
command input. Available values are 10/100/1000/3000 msec. I left this set to
default at 100 msec. I also tried 10 msec with no effect.

Menu 029 Gene CAT RTS - Enables/ Disables the RTS port of the CAT jack. Can
be set to ON or OFF. I selected RTS on which it should be but also tried off
just in case the documentaion was in error. No effect.

Has anyone successfully interfaced the FT2000MP to DXBase, any suggestions
or an alternate radios.ini file I could try?

Same here, but I use both Special fields. The first one for the abbreviated
contest name, the second one for the year. That way you can pick out a
specific contest and/or year from the Wizard, or just send them all to a
report and sort them by year. Just be consistent in your naming convention.
