Since I see no reason not to, I just mapped E7 (Map Pfx)
to T9 (Pri Pfx) and when T9 is officially dropped we can
make E7 the Pri Pfx. Meanwhile E7/N4EXA, for example,
will log as Bosnia-Hercegovina. There is no conflict since
E7 is not previously assigned anywhere.

Sandy,

That is what I did, just after seeing the announcement
on the ARRL website about E7 to replace T9.

I did the same thing as what Sandy has mentioned below.

Unless T9 is taken back and issued to someone else,
there will not be any conflict.

Subject: [Dxbase] E7A-E7Z Prefix for Bosnia and Herzegovina
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

New E7A-E7Z Prefix for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Aug 8,
2007) -- The ITU has granted a request from the
Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and
Herzegovina (BiH) to replace T9A-T9Z with E7A-E7Z.
According to IARU Secretary David Sumner, K1ZZ, "While
it probably will take some time for the BiH
administration to implement this change, it should put
to an end the use of call signs outside the
ITU-allocated call sign block by stations in parts of
BiH." The new prefix will be implemented "probably
later this year," Sumner said.

Subject: [Dxbase] dangling process
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I've found the "Programs" menu to be quite handy - but have discovered a
minor problem with it.

If I use it to start a program, then quit DXBase before closing that
other program, DXBase appears to close (the window vanishes), but the
DXBase process hangs around and prevents it from starting up again until
I kill it manually using the task manager. I can make it happen every
time with three different programs I start with the "Programs" menu. If
I quit the spawned program first, then quit DXBase, everything works fine.

The only thing I've seen (so far) that doesn't cause this problem is
when I use it to bring up a web page in Firefox.

I tried to force it to background the external programs - I added a '&'
to the end of the command line - but that causes various other problems
depending on the program. I also tried putting the '&' on the argument
list but it also caused problems.

It's a minor annoyance but probably is easy to fix.

Wow, glad someone finally found the reason that DXBase stays loaded
sometimes.
I have also verified what Chris has found. DXBase does the same here. I have
wondered what caused this for several years and I think Jack has also. Maybe
now
that he knows what causes it, he can get it fixed and issue a patch for
DXBase 2007.
