I agree, fonud my host file I had enter the wrong ip addressing, and dxbase threw up, so to speak.

went online to find the correct ip number for the site I use, and all is well... had/has nothing to do with xp.... at least in my case

Thanks Rag

I was hoping the problem will go away after I replaced my PC with a faster one alongside with fresh install of XP and DXbase but it didn't happen. I will check my login configuration though.

Thanks for the tip.

I had this before, then I had wrong string on the dx cluster from general setup.
be sure to have the correct login.

But I know once with DXBASE 2007 I had to reinstall whole dxbase to get ride of this, its probably a bug.

good luck

Nick,

I've never heard of anything like this in the past. I do not know what
application is generating the error you mention but I don't think it comes from anything in DXbase. Since it is intermittant, it leads me to think it is something on your machine such as maybe memory corruption or shortage, or video driver issue, maybe an XP file corruption associated with serial port
communications... the list is endless. I guess all you can do is try to
diagnose your machine and the applications you have installed.
