Maybe this is "old hat" to some of you; however, I
recently learned of a free software product by Eterlogic called VSPE (Virtual
Serial Ports Emulator) that allows
a serial port to be shared among two software applications.

In my case, this program allows me to use AA6YQ's free
Commander program for CAT of my K3 along with DXBase
2007. I downloaded the VSPE and set it up in "splitter" mode to split my PC's
serial port so that applications can
share communications.

One caution-- on (very) rare occasions, there seems to be a conflict and DXBase
logs the wrong frequency.

Chuck NI0C
