To any and all Report experts,

I have been working on generating a custom Report using DXbase 2007's
built-in tools. So far my project is still in the learning stage but I have
come up with an observation that I cannot answer using the Help files.

The powerful report generator that is built-in to DXB saves it projects with
the .lsv extension and are saved in the \Reports folder under DXbase. I also
noticed there are other reports also saved in the same folder using the .rpt
extension. For the most part these are the ones that come with the DXB
install, plus some of the reports that our mentor Joe has been kind enough
to provide us with, which also have the .rpt extension.

What tool(s) are required to create the .rpt type reports? Are these the
.rpt reports more powerful then the .lsv reports? It looks to me that the
.lsv reports I make cannot generate input options when run - i.e.: "What
mode?:" (or at least I have not found a way to do it yet), which begs me to
ask are there other advantages of making .rpt type reports.

I'm off to put the coffee on, so I can be wide awake when all your answers
come in. <grin>

TNX,

Eric - Ve3gsi.
