Try DXLabs (http://www.dxlabsuite.com/). A great suite of programs with terrific support by the developer and it is free.
It sure didn't take them long to pull the plug on DXbase.com. I would have thought they would have kept it up for a while to let users know what is going on. Not everyone subscribes to this reflector. 73, Tom KQ5S -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bill Parry Sent: Friday, July 31, 2009 9:21 AM To: 'Jack'; [email protected] Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Farewell I have assumed that this was coming for some time. Fortunately or not, I still really like DXBase. Like several that have commented on this product, I have used it since it was a DOS based product. I guess, even though I intend to continue to use DXBase, I should begin to look around to find some other logging program that has equivalence. I don't want to be caught sort when the inevitable comes and DXBase won't work on some new machine I buy. I wonder if anyone has done any research into other logging programs that offer similar things to DXBase. (Frankly I hope that someone decides to use this program as a base and expand on it...I don't mind the price.) I am expecting a switch to be an unpleasant task since I have contacts stretching over 5 decades and many thousands of contacts. :-( Bill W5VX -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jack Sent: Friday, July 31, 2009 10:52 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Dxbase] Farewell Effective today, we have discontinued the sale of DXbase and we have taken steps to close Scientific Solutions, Inc. For many months, we have studied the prospects of further development work on DXbase. We have studied your answers to surveys, private emails, reflector posts, and telephone calls. It became clear to us that DXbase 2007 already provides nearly all of the capabilities that the vast majority of our customers want. Therefore it would be unlikely that we could improve enough on DXbase to warrant upgrades in the near future. So after many many years, we have come to the end. We appreciate the loyalty that we have been given by so many of you and we wish you success in your ham activities. We've made a ton of friendships over the years and we are grateful to have been given that opportunity. We will of course remain active in ham radio and will no doubt see many of you again. We have been accepting offers for the purchase of all rights associated with DXbase source code and will continue to accept offers for another ten days or so. If a deal is reached with anyone, you'll hear about it from them. Since our DXbase email address will be shut down shortly, we will be accepting offers at a temporary email address [email protected]. Best wishes and thanks for your support, Jack ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
