Joe brought up and interesting point as stated below.

Neal you had touch on the Auto update on prefix changes.

The below statement I do not fully understand why or how it works.
However it is real hard to manually updated the prefixes, unless you
have been doing it for some time.

Some one else stated they did all their own updates manually
and preferred it that way.

The logging program that I am using now is a manual update. It
is real easy to do and not complexed at all. Simplicity at its best.

The question is can you make this update easy both automatically
and manually?

Is it necessary to redo how it is done now or simplify the data entry
and leave it intact internally as is?

--------Yes - you could do that for the sake of the PREFIX. But,
in the case of the 1x1 callsign (such as K4M) - it doesn't
work on the auto-populating of the State, County, etc etc
fields.

The 1x1 callsigns (for now) have to be handled individually
and extra care taken to insure that the info is correct in
all fields of the QSO logbook.

DXbase auto-populates the info filled-in (for each field
individually) from the previous QSOs ... so, in the case of
the 1x1 callsign (special events and only good for a very
short timeframe - and - CHANGES each time) - these scenarios
are not suitable to the auto-populating of the previous info.
