I just sent a note on how to uninstall DXBase, so here is the note on how to install DXBase!
1. Download the Setup.exe program and your reg file. 2. Quit every other program you have running. I cannot stress this enough! Look in the systray (the little space at the bottom right of the screen and right click on everything to see if it has a quit item in the menu that pops up. 3. Kill any antivirus/firewall program. Some programs allow you to defeat the protection which is an acceptable substitute but preferable to have these programs killed. 4. Once no programs are running, double-click on the setup program. If you see the installer stop at something like 92%, it means some other program has grabbed the Fonts folder and has it locked for updates. If you cannot find which program is doing this in order to stop it, you can rerun the setup.exe for DXBase and choose the Custom install option. When you are presented with choices to make for the custom install, unselect the fonts install. This means you will not get zeros with a slash thru them but it will allow you to get past hanging at 92%. I will work hard to simplify both the uninstall and install functions for DXB2010 but until then, please keep these emails handy!
