Maybe you knew and did this already, but just in case, I'll mention this. It sounds like at the point you are now, that you actually do have a successful install of DXbase and the problem originally reported is not going to be solved by anything in DXbase but instead seems to be an issue with Win7 doing something unexpected with file permissions. Just a guess but I really don't think uninstalling/installing DXbase is going to change anything regarding the original issue.
Uninstalling DXbase requires several steps if you intend to start over from scratch with a fresh install: 1. Copy your QSO log mdb and refdata.mdb files to a safe place in a temporary folder. 2. From add/remove programs, uninstall DXbase completely. 3. Using Windows Explorer, delete the dxb2007.ini file from Windows folder. 4. Using Windows Explorer, delete the dxbase 2007 folder and everything in it. 5. Reboot the machine. Now, you have a clean system and can install DXbase. 1. Turn off any other programs that are running especially antivirus stuff. 2. Install DXbase 2007. 3. Reboot the machine. 4. Try DXbase to validate that it's working. 5. Copy your QSO mdb and refdata.mdb files from the temporary folder into your DXbase 2007 folder. Note that on Vista/Win7 you might have a cloned copy of your QSO database that the OS created, so make sure if that's the case that you find it and replace it with the old one that actually has your Qs in it. Hope this makes sense.
