One nice check that can be made on questionable PORTABLE callsigns, would be to go to the LOTW website and on the opening webpage - there is a icon/button that is entitled:
"Find Call" When I typed-in the HK0/EA4DX callsign, it came back with "No log data found".. Then I typed-in the alternative callsign of EA4DX/HK0 and it came back with: "Last upload for EA4DX/HK0: 2005-11-16 01:07:04Z " So, there is a way to, "in-advance", doublecheck the possibility of which way the station is submitting his QSOs to LOTW. Very time-consuming, but could prove valuable. 73 Joe wa6axe > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected]; [email protected] > Date: Fri, 25 Dec 2009 09:31:01 +0100 > Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Log Entries > > Merry Christmas to all. > > If you uncheck 'Override mode with Band Plan' (in User options/Log Defaults) > it will use mode from previous QSO, or mode from radio when you log the QSO. > > As far as I know, using prefix in front or after the call, should be the > same for DXbase.
