Chris, I am using DXBase2007 on my Vista laptop without any significant problems, and I did not have to locate the DXB folder in a special location. Because of struggles with UAC (User Account Control) and other issues prior to installation of DXBase, I was already accessing my machine as the "administrator" (not just a named account with administrator privileges, but with the account named "administrator"), and with UAC disabled. DXB installed without issue in its normal place (C:\Program Files\Scientific Solutions), and it runs smoothly. That approach has worked extremely well for me.
