Hi Neal,  I connect my pc to the internet via an RJ11 to my router.   I very 
seldom connect to the internet when using DXBase.  I connected yesterday to see 
if that still worked and it did and had no problems.  Other of course than 
closing down the program.

  Pete are you using the LPT port or serial ports or the internet? Usually this 
type of symptom is a program waiting for something external to happen and it 
never does!
