In Windows
Got to Start>All Programs>Scroll down to the DXBase 2007 folder
Open the folder and select the forth item down, DXB utility
Select Database and you will find two options, Compact and Repair.

But again, I'm just guessing but I think your problem is the mixed up 
log and refdata mdb files.
Go over my instructions again.
