Thanks...Ill try those things. Sounds like the uninstall should have removed DXB2007.ini but didn't. Surprisingly I didn't take any such precautions with my laptop yet didn't have the problems.
Hopefully what you suggest will straighten things out...might I have to do a reinstall to recreate DXB2007.ini? Hi Ron When you uninstall DXBase on Vista/Win7, it leaves the DXB2007.ini file in the Windows directory (usually C:\Windows). This file has the link to the now non-existant program directory. So, whenever you uninstall DXBase on a Vista or Win7 system, be sure and go to the Windows Directory and remove the DXB2007.ini file, otherwise it will get lost looking for that file. Also make sure you set the 'Run as Administator' checkbox in the DXB2007.exe's compatibility property. 73 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 On Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 9:34 PM, Ron Stordahl AE5E <[email protected]> wrote: After successfully uninstalling DXBase2007 from c:\Program Files and >reinstalling into c:\Amateur Radio on my Vista laptop I felt sufficiently brave >to help a friend do the same thing on his Vista ham computer. > >As I should have known it would be harder than I expected, however I finally did >get it running, although not completely. > > >When doing the install I substituted "Amateur Radio" for "Program Files" when >the installer asked for the destination.
