Hi Jack, Based on 44000 spots generated during the ARRL SSB Contest, here are some assuptions: 1, Weekend spot trattic of 44K (which is way high, for instance CQWW RTTY contest had 30K) 2. Spots are a maximum of 80 characters so I took an average of 40 characters 3. The total of week spots is the weekend spot load plus half of the weekend spots (again quite conservative)
Given these assimptions, there are a total of 66000 spots at a total character count of 2.6MB. With 4.3 weeks a month thats a monthly load of 11.26MB, Yearly load is 135.2 MB Not such a factor for internet usage I hope? 73 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 NEW PHONE NUMBER Amateur Radio: K3NC Blog: http://www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/blog/ DXBase bug reports: email to [email protected] Abroham Neal forums: http:/www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/community/ On Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 8:20 AM, Jack <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm curious if any sysops track the amount of data that is sent to an > individual subscriber to their internet cluster.
