CC Cluster (the type of DXCluster I run at www.dxcluster.us) allows you to say whether you want Skimmer spots or not. The Skimmer spots are only from skimmer nodes directly connected to the dxcluster. I have 6 skimmer nodes connected to my cluster in addtion to my own skimmer server east coast US. That way you can get the skimmer stuff (or not) without it getting into the cluster backbone. Therefore, bad spots which are a fact of life with skimmer, are constrained to the node.l
Frank is trying to bridge two generations (old packetcluster with skimmer nodes) by verifying skimmer spots against a set of rules and then posting them to the cluster network. I know he had some fine-tuning issues but I don't think they are a problem outside of testing anyone's spot duping logic. 73 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 NEW PHONE NUMBER Amateur Radio: K3NC Blog: http://www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/blog/ DXBase bug reports: email to [email protected] Abroham Neal forums: http:/www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/community/ On Thu, Mar 24, 2011 at 9:10 AM, Fred Handscombe <[email protected]>wrote: > Of course if W3LPL stopped his highly unpopular (outside US at least) > SPAMMING with automated skimmer spots then the traffic would be a lot less! > > Frank really is making himself unpopular and will be one to avoid calling > in > contests for me > > 73 Fred > A65BD > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Neal Campbell" <[email protected]> > To: "Jack" <[email protected]> > Cc: <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2011 5:04 PM > Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Usage question for packet sysops? > > > > > > Hi Jack, > > > > Based on 44000 spots generated during the ARRL SSB Contest, here are some > > assuptions: > > 1, Weekend spot trattic of 44K (which is way high, for instance CQWW RTTY > > contest had 30K) > > 2.
