The path dxbase is using for the hosts file, is it the same as the hosts you are manually editing??? And is it being saved WITHOUT any extension.
Notepad tends to add txt, in which case dsbase will not see it -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alan Leith Sent: May-07-11 11:09 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Dxbase] cluster setup The one response I got to my question about changing the address of a DX cluster has half solved my problem. So I'll ask again. I have changed the address of my local cluster in the Hosts file in Windows XP. However, when I attempt to do the same change in the DXbase program using the Modify Hosts File function, following the instructions in DXbase 2006, I get no change. Obviously I am doing something wrong but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is. Each time I edit the line for "ve1dxi.no-ip.org" to "ve1dxi.no-ip.com" and save it following the instructions, it goes back to ".org" and I am unable to connect to the cluster. Can anyone tell me how to get this edit to take properly? 73 Al, VE1AL ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
