Gerard,

Check the Help manual under DX Spot Alert Options.  It sounds like you may 
have something setup in the various DXBase filters that is only allowing a 
"new" band/mode condition to pass through.  Especially look at the section 
for Individual Band/Mode Filters.

I'm not aware of anything special you need to do to get the qrz.com icon to 
work.  Merely have a call selected in the log and then click on the icon. 
It should open a qrz.com web page with the call already entered for you.
