I hear your views and they sound like pascals (don't leave us here alone!!)
but your missing the point of the API.
Here are the facts
* Writing for DOM is easier
* Writing for DOM saves lines of code
* This DynAPI ver is huge to only a dom one
But you are forgetting a few things:
* At the current level there is no pure DOM browser so there still is a need
for an API
* The purpose of the DynAPI is to supply an easy to use interface for
creating dynamic web pages. Even if the DynLayer code gets seriously reduced
we still need some API. The API is now boasting many new developers and
because it is open source there is loads of widgets and examples and
experience out there. The DOM should make DynAPI stronger and not weaker.
