Well, I did ponder about this before, coming to the conclution its more trouble than 
its worth to do a full integration of server-side with DynAPi rather than just use 
DynAPI alongside server-side implementations. 

I did however show in a rater simple example how you can use loadpanel and set the 
source to a server-side script with custom output via the get method, virtually no 
loading (at least not reloading) process. It reimplemented the same method Dan's 
dynapi 1 sever communication widget did and required the get method rather than post. 
Its no good for secure transfers, but nor is javascript being a clientside script 
language, so it fits into it, don't you think?

(Richard compiled and put it up from my rather long previous outline of it) and look a 
my example if you think it'll be of any use! I could explain it in more detail to you 
(unless you look it up in the archives, which I think everyone prefer), but its really 
simple, so you probably don't need to get me rambeling about it ;)
