Another thought..
Cookies are not totally permanent, (I manually delete mine often)
Also, the user would only see the customized site on the ONE machine,
as well, if your kid brother moved everything around, the next time you whent to
the site you would find it all 'messed up'..
solution?
Profiles..
eg:
"Want to make your changes to my site permanent? Click here to create a User Profile
"It's absolutly free!"

A thought: High-lighting could be diffacult if one uses mutiple links (simulated nodes) inside one node..

If it's silly then so am I.. I like it.
I hope you don't mind if I steal the idea..
(once again.. why didn't I think of that?)
Once I am finally finished with the current project I
will be revamping my own site www.allthewhile.com (IE ONLY at the moment)
I am planning on making it skinable..
I WAS going to provide an app to make skins..
but with dragging, I don't think there will be any need..
