With the potential to get code-heavy rather easy using this API compression
offers significant advantages.

I've scoured the web and found "limited" resources related to this area of
the web; suprisingly. I did run across a recent release from
http://www.remotecommunications.com/apache/mod_gzip/ that allows apache
servers to dynamically compress html, code on the fly. Worth checking out.

Now the questions.

1) If I have compressed files stored on my site (as well as uncompressed)
will the browser (if HTTP 1.1 compliant) call the compressed files naturally
or does the server need to be involved? Most ISP's I have talked with know
little to nothing about this topic.

2) If the server needs involvement, how?

3) Any references online I can research?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

DS
