That and the fact that NS6 has yet to gain even 1% marketshare (I don't
think it ever will). Most recent stats put MS at ~91% with 77% being IE5+.
NS4 has about 8%. Much as I loath MS it does appear that they will sweep
the browser wars. They went from 86% to 91% since the beginning of the
year.
NS6 has been a total failure with most people falling back on NS4 or (5% to
be exact) abandoning NS altogether and moving to IE.
Hope it helps
Ray

Subject: [Dynapi-Help] NS6, animated gifs and stacked layers...
Hi folks!
Has anyone run into problems with animated gifs within DynLayers in NS6?
I'm thinking that the problem is most likely just that NS6 doesn't handle
animated gifs very well - in fact they seem to crash the browser!
Anyway, I have a cool little slideshow script that uses the DynAPI (release
2 - 01/25/01)...but when animated gifs are used in the layers, NS6 seems to
bomb.
I guess I'm just looking for someone else to point the finger at NS6 on this
one before I go tell the client that the code is solid, but NS6 isn't!
Thanks for any shared thoughts - much appreciation for the DynLayer crowd!
- Abre
