The "big" question is predicting ...,
the point in the future where NS/IE4 market share falls below the "customer
perceived point of relevance". This shift has slowed to a crawl lately.
Important dynamics:
1) Success of Windows XP launch.
2) Netscape marketing; if it endorses abandonment the masses will.
3) Linux penetration.
I think with the launch of Windows XP there will be a shift from IE4's to
IE5+. Few people like being two browser cycles out of tune with the masses.
So,... what of the staunch NS luddites? Predictions?
Because the fall of NS means that this API can be rewritten and optimizied
ALLOT.... Wonder what my old pal Pascal's up too?
