Just a thought but, in JS are "=" not processed right-to-left?
IE:
Given:
Var1=Var2="a value";
should mean that "a value" is assigned to Var2
then Var2 (containing "a value") is assign to Var1.

That was my understanding, and may explain why NS crashes

I gave it a run in mozilla, and that seems to run quite nicely, with most things working well.
In IE5.5/winMe there's just the AfroAPI is undefined error, nothing works. I wonder, why do you set the status display like this:

Why not just do this:

In NS4 It crashed the browser while loading the site. (I was testing from here: http://www.mpember.f2s.com/afroapix/website/  when this happened)

Basically the site has plenty of content, but could do with a little more source-code, especially to show the difference between dynAPI, and AfroApi.

Richard.

I just finished a round of bug catching.  Mozilla and NS4 now work completely.

There are also a great deal of other bug fixed ans changes.  They are all document in the CHANGES.TXT file contained in the download.

I am sorry that I am not able to offer the download in a good old zip file, but f2s have decided in their almighty wisdom to block all .zip files.

I have also read that Netscape have started beta testing (previewing) the latest version 6.1 and it is based on Mozilla 0.91.  This should mean that I the user upgrades their version of NS6, it will be fully supported by the afroapi.

Also, if anyone knows of a method of removing the scrollbars from the window using JS in NS6 / Mozilla, please contact me.  I have so far been unable to find a solution that will get rid of them.

I have just finished putting a bare bones site together for the afroapi.  The url is  http://www.mpember.f2s.com/afroapix/website/

There are a few problems with NS4 / Mozilla at the moment but IE5+ (Win only @ the moment) works fine.

I would be interested to see what people think of the layout / structure of the site and also if they find any problems with any of the examples. (the mor detail, the better).

There are some known problems that I am currently working on but I'll know more about them in the next few days.

The core code should work in NS4 (Mac / Win), IE5+ (Win Only), Mozilla 0.9+ (ALL).  It will not work in NS6, this will remain the case until NS get around to upgrading to the latest mozilla base.

Also, the site is limited at the moment by the webspace I am using.  If anyone out there knows where I can get PHP/MySQL webspace without ads / filetype restrictions, please email me.
