The setStatus is used so that I can redirect the status messages if I want.
You will see that as the page loads, my statusbar appears at the bottom. The use of an interim method rather directly means that I can make the status message appear anywhere that I want. It is possible to even log these if I wanted to for debugging purposes. I'll try work out why IE5.5 is playing up. Thanx for the feedback. Richard Bennett wrote: I gave it a run in mozilla, and that seems to run quite nicely, with most things working well.In IE5.5/winMe there's just the AfroAPI is undefined error, nothing works. I wonder, why do you set the status display like this: Why not just do this: In NS4 It crashed the browser while loading the site. (I was testing from here: http://www.mpember.f2s.com/afroapix/website/ when this happened) Basically the site has plenty of content, but could do with a little more source-code, especially to show the difference between dynAPI, and AfroApi.
