"clear cover layer"
Performance of dragging and resizing this layer-with-iframe
went to crap on Mozilla when I add that extra claer gif though, so I had to
add a check and only add the clear gif code for IE. Mozilla doesn't seem
to resize images very well, things gets choppy.
Everything is working
well though, thanks again.

Yes this works very well, and it seams like you will be needing this for ordinary layers if you are using mac ie 5 aswell... So we need to start to learn this tecnique :)

Perfect, works like a charm. Thanks Arijit.

IE doesn't consider a layer to 'be there' unless there's content on
it, as far as I have seen. A simple work-around would be to place a
clear, 1 pixel by 1 pixel image, in the cover layer and stretch it to
the layers width and height.
Hope that helps...

I'm not sure if this is really on topic, but you guys know the most
about this stuff, so I thought you might be able to help out.
I have layer A, which has an iframe on it. I don't want people to be
able to click on the website in the iframe at certain times, so I
need to make a clear cover layer over it. To do this, I added layer
B as a child of A, and it covers it completely.
In Mozilla - works great, you can see the page in the iframe, but
nothing is clickable.
Here's the problem:
In IE - if I make the cover layer a color, then I only see the color,
and I can't click anything that it's covering, even when I click
where a link would normally be on the page below, so far so good.
But when I change the color of the cover layer to "transparent", then
it's like it's not there. I can click right through it to the page
below.
Any ideas how to make a clear cover layer in IE? Or is there someway
to make an iframe "view only" ?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions,
Jesse
