This statement really just illustrates a lack of understanding of modern accounting practices, and more especially a lack of understanding of modern accounting software. Australia has just introduced GST. Perhaps many businesses who think in this way have had to hire new personnel to deal with the extra bookkeeping burden. Most though, probably just upgraded their accounting software for a few dollars and did a bit of staff training.
