That is the argument that, "I never crash so I don't need airbags". I want all the
links in the security chain to be as strong as possible (without getting too
paranoid) not only for my protection but marketing.

> but e-gold can't help

> help themselves

Yes they can: "Fundamentally, E-Gold should offer at least another two tiers of
protection". Don't get me wrong - I have met many in the company and really like
them. I know they are busy and mean well, but I am not satisfied with the offerings
and want change.

- If a good cracker ever gets into the system, e-gold has very serious problems
instantly. In minutes the attacker shifts the metal to another e-gold account, then a
MetalSavings account then Standard Reserve, and repeats the process a few times and
then gets an OutExchange. If the attack was detected they still might get cash
before the transactions were traced. If undetected, only the voices of customers would
sound the alarm. (I assume e-gold has nifty algorithms to detect some of this.)
Now add in the hassle, time and liability --> you bet I would be on the most secure
system I could figure out and have great admins paid well. (as an aside, I think
VISA has 4-8 very well paid hard core hackers that do nothing but watch the servers
24/7 and learn stuff. They seem to translate down time into millions of
$'s/minute.)

- You get held up for your e-gold password.......

The benefits of e-gold make for interesting design challenges.
