E-gold was not set-up as a private, offshore haven. Why did you assume
otherwise?
Check out this part of their privacy policy:
"Unless (i) necessary for completing OutExchange payments, (ii) otherwise
approved by User, (iii) ordered by a court or arbitration body of acceptable
jurisdiction, as determined by G&SR, or (iv) required for the submission of
a U.S. Department of the Treasury Form 8300 *, G&SR shall not reveal User's
contact or identifying information or transaction history to any third
party."
