Hmm. Maybe I was wrong to use the word "socialist" (since hardly any
socialists call themselves socialist anyway, these days). What I meant
is that e-gold is useful no matter what our politics, and for it to dominate
as I think it will, it has to be seen as something besides a system made
for a political minority like the long-time inhabitants of the e-gold list.
In what *might* be seen as good news, I heard on the TV news today
(warning: grain-of-salt alert!!!) that about 76K ATM machines in about
20 states have now stopped working, due to recent floods in Texas. I
am getting this sense of deja-vu with flooding in New Jersey last year
that caused similar system-wide outages at banks in the northeast. Are
any of you affected? I can't seem to get my ATM card to work here,
even *without* floods, but that's another (long) story...
