Me too, especially after meeting Doug Jackson and Jim Ray in person and
hearing them speak.  Still though, it would be nice to have a formal audit.
But then of course we have to trust the people who go in and count the bars
and research the chain of ownership.

Extra layers of checking are valuable because probabilities multiply.  In my
opinion, the probability of e-gold being (or becoming) a massive scam is
roughly 2^-20.  With an audit by a trusted group, that probability might
drop to about 2^-32.  Hardly worth it in my case, but for someone who's very
skeptical the odds might drop from 2^-1 to 2^-13.
