Dear Friends, Gold closed in New York at $319.90 and the Dow at 7701.45 so we have a Dow:Au ratio at 24.07 ounces troy of gold to buy the Dow.
As you can see, this closing is a good deal lower than the low back in July. You may wish to watch the markets overseas late Sunday and early Monday to gauge what may happen on Monday in New York. September and October are not really excellent months for the Dow to increase. The Dow : Au ratio is going to re-set to 1:1 before the Dow reaches for much higher ground than its long term peak back in 1999. Or, as my friend Clyde Harrison at Rogers Raw Materials Fund says, paper instruments are out for the next decade or so, and raw materials are in.
