I have written at http://ar.cambist.net/faq.php that GBCs could be the only alternative in countries like South Africa, where the possession of gold is illegal (2nd. question, 5th item).
But I have my doubts, so I would like someone in that country to confirm that I've written the truth, before the site stops being "In construction" and is widely advertised. I'd appreciate any information from the South African members of this list. If possible, any links to the text of government decrees in official websites or other reliable source. Besides: If it's illegal, is it only the possession of gold or also of other precious metals? What about using it for jewelry? Thanks in advance for your information... Regards, Alexis. PS: Thanks to those who sent me information about the end of the gold standard in the US. I finally found out I needed the text of Executive Order 11615 of August 15th, 1971. The NARA employees sent me a copy by postal mail. --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
