Why don't the MM bound together and set-up a phpBB ? (= a bulletin board / newsgroup run on open source software which can be dowloaded and intalled free of charge).
This would allow public and private messaging, and people could read through single threads at a time without having to navigate back and forth to see if someone has replied to their message. Similar to a normal newsgroup, users could choose if the want email notifications or summaries of all new posts or only their posts or none at all, etc. Most of all, it would allow everyone a profile page, so those who don't post regularly could still be easier identified. Obviously there are also registration and permission options [eg. some boards are only for MM, some for registered users, other for public viewing, etc.] Any feedback on this?
