Of course it is fake! E-gold don't spam their users. I deleted the same spam before downloading my e-mail. All of the URLs are disguised, look at the HTML source only. You can either use Email Remover to preview the first ten or 100 lines and look at the source (including header) where you will see where it comes from and where the links really go to. I am beginning to suspect that all of those Nigerian scammers operating out of Holland maybe also are sending out the fake e-gold spams every day!
