Hi list, I own a CalDigit TS3 docking station that contains among other things a I210 Ethernet controller. This device is connected using Thunderbolt 3. I use the igb module to drive it.
Relevant line from lspci: 07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation I210 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) The device works fine, but when unplugging the cord, I get a kernel BUG and my system freezes. It looks like this (sorry that I can't get a text version): https://i.imgur.com/87mRlMG.jpg Manually removing the igb module (modprobe -r igb) before I disconnect the device works around the issue. I can then reconnect the device, insert the module, and it works fine. This is a 2015 Razer Blade Stealth running Debian Unstable, kernel 4.14.2.
