Because one of your cards is the PRO/1000 PT and the other is PRO/1000
GT, both the e1000 and the e1000e driver are being used. I'd like to
treat this, at least initially, as a new issue, and I think I should be
able to repro the issue here, and that's what I plan to do. Could you
please log the issue as a new defect at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/support. If you could include the
following with that report, it'd help us to closely align our test
system to yours, and make for a more accurate repro.

uname -a
version of bonding driver
ethtool -i eth0
ethtool -i eth1
I'll look out for the bug report - in the meantime I'll load up a system
with RHEL5.4 and see if I get the same behavior.
