Hi David, Bruce,
Thank you for your comments.
Bruce - thank you for letting me know you'll be updating SourceForge with a
version which fixes the build error, appreciated.
David - thank you also. I've added a bug report as suggested; ID 2873479. If
the log and config files do not suffice, please feel free to just let me
know. I've also tried the following -
>> If use_carrier is an available module load parameter for your
installation, could you please try it and see if bonding now properly
switches adapters.
Not being an RHEL expert, I've approached this by both (i) literally
entering "modprobe bonding mode=1 use_carrier=1 miimon=100" at a Terminal
window, and (ii) editing /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ to add
"use_carrier=1" to the existing BONDING_OPTS (which already include mode=1
and miimon=100). The result was unfortunately the same as before,
/proc/net/bonding/bond0 showed teaming/bonding to work, but when eth1 (PT)
is the active user the machine is no longer pingable - the
/proc/net/bonding/bond0 status was the same at each stage of the test, as
described in the following files in the bug report, and in the following
order -
teamingIssue_20091006_procNetBondingBond0_justAfterEth0Unplugged.txt
teamingIssue_20091006_procNetBondingBond0_justAfterEth0PluggedBackIn.txt
teamingIssue_20091006_procNetBondingBond0_justAfterThisTimeEth1Unplugged.txt
teamingIssue_20091006_procNetBondingBond0_justEth1PluggedBackIn.txt
The bug report should contain other relevant info (e.g ifconfig -a) and the
outputs David requested. If there is further information you require, just
let me know.
Regards,
Ed
