Apologies if this gets double posted, but I seem to be having issues getting this question out to the mailing list.
Is it possible to turn off hardware VLAN tag stripping, or an alternative method to expose the full 802.1q header in libpcacp? The NIC is connected to a trunk port on a switch, and a vlan interface is created with vconfig. Sniffing this interface reveals an untagged frame. If i sniff the base/underlying interface, I do not see any frames, tagged or untagged. If I remove the vlan interface with vconfig, and unload the 8021q module, I see the frame untagged. I am using kernel 2.6.18-92.1.13.el5.centos.plus and igb 2.4.12 with an Intel 82576 based Intel NIC Thanks, Scott ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer-- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE (a $49 USD value)!
