So is it 11.04 that work and is broken in 11.10 or are you seeing the problem 
in both versions of the OS?  If it's in both, has this ever worked correctly?  
If it has worked when was the last time it was working?  Have you tried to use 
the latest e1000 from our Sourceforge site (http://e1000.sf.net )?  Does it do 
the same thing?

This is very old HW and we have no other reports of this happening which 
probably means that this has something to do with your configuration.  What is 
the NIC plugged into?
