The 40G modules do not down shift to 10G, unfortunately, but you can change the 
configuration by using a tool from the cd image called QCU to change the 2x40 
to 4x10.  The software disk image is here:  
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22283/Intel-Ethernet-Connections-CD  
In this image, look in the Apps folder, then QCU.

I've asked for a link to just this tool instead of the whole image, I'll send 
you the link to that once I have it.
