Roland Mas, 2005-04-15 21:23:59 +0200 : [Bad CRCs when upgrading from 1.9.9 to 2.1.1]

Since downgrading didn't fix the problem, I started wondering whether the packets really came up as bad from the ISP. I just tried plugging the modem into the computer I used as gateway before I got the Soekris, and on that one I do get the usual download rate. So the problem is on my side. Fine. Now, is it a software problem or a hardware problem? How can I know? If it were hard, wouldn't *all* packets come up as bad? On the other hand, if it were soft, wouldn't downgrading have fixed it? I'm very much open to ideas -- 5 kB/s is really slow when you've grown used to a hundred times that speed :-/ How can I diagnose further? Can I test the USB port somehow?
