Hi, In this post [fr] remi notes that /etc/resolv.conf could be a link to /var/run/ppp/resolv.conf instead of /etc/ppp/resolv.conf
http://forum.eagle-usb.org/viewtopic.php?p=17919 What's the standard ? I thought that man pppd gave a unique specification (see below) Does it apply to Red Hat as well (from which version ?) For the moment, if we detect Fedora or Red Hat we may just change the link we make ? Though, I do not know how it can work with a LAN with DNS... I thought that pppd can add automatically the DNS to /etc/resolv.conf (I do not use a link...).
usepeerdns Ask the peer for up to 2 DNS server addresses. The addresses supplied by the peer (if any) are passed to the /etc/ppp/ip-up script in the environment variables DNS1 and DNS2, and the envi- ronment variable USEPEERDNS will be set to 1. In addition, pppd will create an /etc/ppp/resolv.conf file containing one or two nameserver lines with the address(es) supplied by the peer.
@++ Ben'. aka baud123
