Here they are : /etc/resolv.conf : nameserver 213.36.80.1 nameserver 213.36.80.1 /etc/hosts : 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.0.3 quigon 192.168.0.6 andros 129.88.38.1 horus.imag.fr 192.168.0.4 obiwan.tiscali.net obiwan gberger py (a few lines deleted) /etc/sysconfig/network : NETWORKING=yes HOSTNAME=obiwan As you can see, the server (obiwan) has already a hostname, which is staticaly defined as its address on the local network. "obiwan.tiscali.net" is bogus, obviously. I should have put it there for some reason, but I don't remember why. Some application require probably a FQDN. -- Gilles BERGER SABBATEL LSR-IMAG, BP 72 - 38402 SAINT MARTIN D'HERES CEDEX - FRANCE Tel: (33) 04 76 82 72 68 Fax : (33) 04 76 82 72 87 http://www-lsr.imag.fr/Les.Personnes/Gilles.Berger-Sabbatel
